What are the prerequisites for this program?

This program is designed for experienced Health, Medical, and Well-being coaches who are ready to learn to coach in clinical and care environments but do not meet transitional eligibility requirements.

Is the program approved by the Institute for Behavior Change (IBC)?

Yes, HMCI is an IBC-Approved Bridge Pathway for the Clinical Health and Well-Being Coach (CHWC) certification.

Does enrollment include the IBC certification exam fee?

No. The CHWC exam is administered separately by IBC. Visit instituteforbehaviorchange.org for exam fees and registration.

How is the program aligned with the CHWC exam?

The program is built on the IBC CHWC exam blueprint domains, theoretical frameworks, coaching presence, coaching environment, coaching alliance, ethics, professionalism, and reflective practice relevant to coaching in clinical and care contexts.

What do I receive after completing the program?

A letter from HMCI to IBC confirming that you have completed the program and you are ready to sit for the CHWC exam. This letter is what makes you eligible to apply for the exam. Attendance alone is not sufficient to receive it, and receiving it does not guarantee you will pass the exam.

Can HMCI guarantee that I pass the exam?

No. This program supports preparation for CHWC certification; final certification credential decisions are determined independently by the Institute for Behavior Change (IBC).

How is the program structured?

The program is structured as a Small hybrid (combination of synchronous and asynchronous) study group that includes 5 weekly 3-hour online sessions via Zoom, self-study materials, and personal support.

Will the sessions be recorded?

Yes.

Can I just watch the recordings?

No. You need to attend at least 4 out of the 5 live sessions and actively participate with your camera on.

Do I need a medical background?

No, you need a background in health, medical, and/or well-being coaching.

What are the cancellation and refund policies?

HMCI  reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a program due to low enrollment, instructor illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will receive a full refund.
To cancel your registration, please email shiri@h-mci.com . Refunds will be granted if the HMCI office is notified at least seven (7) days prior to the start of the program. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than seven (7) days before the program’s start date.

When does enrollment close?

Enrollment closes when the cohort fills or on June 7 (Cohort A) or June 17, 2026 (Cohort B) — whichever comes first.
